The song 'The House is on Fire' is the newest song I'm working on. It was inspired by Greta Thunberg and the thousands of other people who were at the Climate Strike in New York City on Friday September 20,2019. The song was started with my friend TJ who said that I should write a song about the event and who gave me the line 'a sixteen year old wind blew into town.' That is exactly what happened. People are wondering what can we do? The answer my friend, is blowing in the wind. The answer is 'We must put out the fire.'
It took me a few weeks to finish these versions of the song, and still a work in progress. There might be changes to lyrics and music, but maybe this is close to the final version. This is just a demo, a rough cut version of the song. Just putting it out there.

The House is on Fire, Spoken Word Version
The House is on Fire (Song version with keyboard)
A sixteen year wind blew into town
and what was waiting there
young and old who came to hear
it's time for change we cannot wait
we need to act before it's lateWe know, in our hearts
that what we do is wrong
we must, protect the earth
and stop causing harm
Fire Fire
The house is on fire
It's apparent to many
Situation is direTemperature's rising
Politicians just wait
they'll keep feeding the fire
until it's too lateFire Fire
The House is on Fire
What should we do?
We must put out the fire
We know, we cannot wait
Our children are at risk
Extinction, raises its head
as we stand on the brink
Fire Fire
Our house is on fire
It's apparent to many
Situation is direOur House is on Fire
We keep fanning the flames
with plastic and oil
we should be ashamedFire Fire
The House is on Fire
What should we do?
We must put out the fire
A sixteen year old wind
blew into our town
That will, eventually
knock politicians downThe wind, was not alone
The young were there to help
And now, they spread the word
That change is in the wind
Fire Fire
The house is on fire
What should we do?
We should put out the fire
Our House is on Fire
We keep fanning the flames
It's the money that's talking
But this isn't a gameFire Fire
The House is on Fire
What should we do?
We must put out the fireWhat should we do?
We must put out the fireWe need me and you
It's the critical hourWhat should we do?
We must put out the fire.
